What was Irvines reason for not using subs then?
Protecting them for the weekend.
A tacit acknowledgement that the tie was effectively thrown - which obviously doesn't explain why Rice, Cresswell, Johnson were all on the pitch for 90 mins having played last Sunday and (presumably) again this Sunday.
Also, not that he would have made any difference, where was Wilshere? Or did we already get our only 90 mins out of him for the season?

Lots of very strange decisions:
Back 4
Rice at centre half & playing 90mins
No subs used at all
Taking the likes of Bowen , Soucek & Fornals with no intention of using them
Only read the bbc report but none of this mentioned
If I was at the FA integrity dept I’d be sending some PLEASE EXPLAIN questions & checking Asian betting markets.
How much would you have to have bet on nil subs for West Ham to win £50k?

Haller has no chance with Anderson alongside him.
Bloke spends more time at LB than in the box. We all know Haller needs service. Bringing Arthur on to put balls in the box was a no brainer

Make no mistake that was a massive fuck you from Sullivan to the fans. He can’t talk his way out but he’s shown he can get in the managers ear and get back through what happens on the pitch. Moyes won’t bite the hand that feeds him.

Cresswell put some good balls in and for some reason lanzini was on the end of them who can’t head the ball.
If he had bought soucek and Bowen on at 2-1 when we were pressing it could of been different.
Yarmalenko looked shot after 50 minutes and for some reason we let him hobble around the bitch for the final third of the game.

As I said Everton are a good team and showed they want to win the competition.
Full strength team out.
We showed we used it as a chance to get players a run out.
No surprise then with the result.

Could have got a smaller coach up there if we knew we were not going to use any subs.
Mini bus perhaps - save the pennies.
Irvine has explained the reasons for no subs but that doesn’t explain why Moyes never makes changes until the game is either win or lost.

Anyone slagging off haller again - the guy isn’t a target man and is t a lone centre forward. He only plays well when he’s got support and some pace, which basically means Antonio and Bowen
I can’t think of many players who’d do well with the midfield he had behind him lumbering about, wide players with no pace and who can’t beat their man and a no 10 who was totally anonymous
Almost Every time the ball went in the box he was in his own. The couple of times he wasn’t he knocked it down for lanzini to miss a good chance, did the same for yarmolenko and used the bit of space he had to bring the back down and scissor kick a decent effort that Pickford saved well
We barely have a squad for match days. If we play all our reserves in one game against a team from the same league playing their full strength team, we really don’t stand much chance!

Another game pissed up the wall due to lack of in-game management
60 mins gone start to get on top create chances.....theyve made 3 subs.......why not put on some fresh legs and have a go????
Get off useless wastes of space like Anderson....poss Noble and try and progress???
Its embarrassing how whether it be Moyes or Irvine let games decline and fall of a cliff

Every other team at this stage of this cup had a go and everyone of them would have brought on all three subs inside 20 minutes of the final whistle to see if they could have changed things.
